i am trying to buy as much 2 dollar gas as i can and it is telling me that 72000 is the max float whats the deal
It's to prevent people from cornering a market and creating a monopoly that would artificially inflate the price of the stock. If someone could buy the entire float of a stock with their cash then it would ruin the dynamics of the market which we saw a couple weeks ago. The 72k amount will go up(it did today) as float sizes increase with the addition of users.

Another thing is that floats are being kept low for this beta period. They will be raised in increments as soon as the latest internal trading systems that were updated over the last couple of days have been confirmed to be working as they should.
i think the float needs to be increased from 82450 to a lot higher, i cant buty enough of a position to make a dramatic impact in my portfolio to compete, i have around 8mil in cash cause i got nothing to buy, the things i would like to buy i am up to my float limit on.

problem being sombody with a 2 mill account buys 2 mil of somthing and it doubles they have a 100% return, i buy the same 2mil and it doubles i have like a 5% return to my entire portfolio, i just think the floats need increased so i can have largeer percentage positions.
I have been working on some things in the background to allow for larger purchases. Having trades execute in 60 seconds or less was the first step. I will have some more changes added tonight to allow for larger purchases. In time I will remove the restriction all together.
i am not saying it was a bad idea it is just now that i have accummulated such a large account these share limits dont allow me to get huge movements any more to compete with the smaller accounts on a percent basis. and just another note you should prabably do 2 for one splits when stock reaches 100 dollars just to keep it active. example ryan howard should have a 4-1 split cal ripken should have a 3-1 split and tony gwen should have a 2-1 split just so it is still a reasonable purchas for smaller accounts. just a suggestion.
